in oil pastel, a commissioned piece..

im still trying to create a new look on my pieces..only for art exhibits and not entirely on my normal style....

my old style for portraiture is commercialized and for art exhibits i have to create something that is "artistic" by playing with colors..i may follow my usual style for likeness but i want the colors to look different...i want to try the modern art...it's not easy for me to adopt on that style though

Hey there! You have such an amazing eye for detail, regardless of whatever medium you use. This piece looks great=)! I know just what you mean about switching the styles. I used to draw years ago just with black and white, and switched to color recently. But looking at your portraits, the inspiration's coming back to try my hand at black and white again. I know I can always improve, and would love a few quick tips on how to improve my style.
And I MUST comment on how awesome your realism is! The black and whites are really something=)

mm... well commercialization now is fine art later. If you think the new style will help add to your repertair then good luck to you.
this piece looks quite nice, especially around the faces. the sky kind of clashes with the rest of the piece though, but overall enjoyable.
